The passage of time becomes apparent when we can track its trace in objects. This evidence is a reference we have to know that time, an intangible concept, exists.
I am the agent who ages the materials in an accelerated pace. Taking inspiration from the different phases during the process of disintegration, I work in pieces that address the subject of deterioration. My formal vocabulary is derived from Florid Victorian ornament as an indication of a historic period. Obscuring these Victorian forms represents my desire to capture segments of time and retain in a visible form the beauty of this sequence.
